Wedding Wednesday!

Good morning! And happy hump day! (I don’t know why I wrote that, I hate the term “Hump Day.” It’s stupid!) ANNNNNNNYYYYYYWAY,

We still have a few odds and ends to tie up, but everything seems to be coming together nicely for next weekend. Let’s just hope like hell it stays that way!

– The Mom and I are going to talk about and hopefully finish up the wedding programs  today.

– We need to finish up the boxes for the out of town guests. I’ve worried about these so much, but I think they’re going to like what we’ve put together.  I would want it if I had to shack up at a hotel in Demopolis, Alabama for a whole weekend!

– I have my shower this weekend, and I’m SO EXCITED about it! I can’t wait to see everybody! I’m so ready for The Bestie to show her face! And to drink mimosas.  And to open gifts. Yep, it’s gonna be a good one!

If there’s one thing I’ve learned throughout this whole wedding process, it’s that you can’t please everybody.  As bad as I wanted, it just wasn’t feasible to have everybody be a bridesmaid, or go on the bachelorette trip.  At some point, you have to draw the line.  I knew where that line was.  I’m sorry if feelings got hurt, but that’s life!

If they were my friend to begin with, they’ll still be my friend at the end.  There are much more important things in life.  It’s just not feasible to try to please everybody all of the time!

– I’m starting to piece together a timeline for the weekend. I know nobody will follow it, things just don’t happen like that, but at least we’ll have something tentative to go by! Apparently I’m a bit of a control freak.  Who knew?? I’m working on it, but let’s just all pray and cross our fingers and toes that NOBODY GETS OFF OF THE SCHEDULE!!!!!! I’m pretty sure they all know there will be hell to pay if they don’t do what Lucinda and I say next weekend! I’ve already informed The Boy that his goals for the weekend are                                1) Do what I say.                                                                                                         2) Don’t do anything to piss me off, make me cry, etc.  He’s been warned!

– In all seriousness, I just want everybody to get along and have a blast! I’m sure with the group of people that we’ve chosen to be in the wedding, that won’t be a problem at all!

– I can start checking the 10 day forecast TOMORROW! Eeeekkk! I know that the weather is beyond my control, but I would still like to have some inkling of what it’s going to be like.WeddingDayRain Maybe I should invest in a cute umbrella, just in case!

I haven’t exercised yet today, but I’m thinking of going for a walk in a little while.  I just hope the wind isn’t blowing like crazy! Last time I tried to run in it, I looked like I got hit in the face with a broom! I guess it’s not that big of deal considering the fact that I have a huge dog scratch on it now! It hurts, but you can barely see it, so it’s all good.

Soda Bans and Childhood Obesity

Happy Tuesday!

I spent last night with my butt glued to the chair so that I could watch one of my favorite shows!


They’ve really spent a lot of time concentrating on childhood obesity this season, which I think is a great topic.  They even brought in three children who were obese and wanted to change.  I think The Biggest Loser changed their lives in more ways than one.  Not only did they lose weight, but they also learned how to eat healthy and to exercise! One of the children even got rid of their pre-diabetes, which I think is awesome! Why can’t some adults learn that all you have to do is change your diet and move! It’s not easy.  If it was, everyone would be doing it.

And it’s not a DIET.  It’s a lifestyle change!!  I was that kid.  And it was hard.  I wish somebody had taught me about healthy eating and exercise when I was a kid!

Moving on….As predicted, I can barely move today.  And I feel like tomorrow is going to be SO.MUCH.WORSE.  But it hurts so good! I feel great about myself and I don’t mind the soreness! At least this way I know that I’m doing something!

By the way, have y’all heard about Michael Bloomberg’s soda ban? I’m all about making healthy choices, and I’m NOT a fan of sodas, you can ask The Boy. But I DO NOT believe that somebody else should tell me what or how much I can drink! I love this stuff just as much as the next person! DietCokeBut if I want to drink a cold can of this deliciousness, that’s my decision.  It’s not a decision for somebody else to make! Just like if people don’t want to eat healthy or exercise, it’s their decision.  All we can do is try to motivate them!

I’ve already accomplished most everything that I want to do today.  I may need to go talk to somebody about the wedding programs this afternoon, but other than that and writing a couple of thank you notes, I’m FREE! I think I’m going to go sit outside this afternoon and read a book or either catch up on my Downton Abbey.  I’m pretty sure I fell asleep last night just as Lady Mary and Matthew Crawley were getting married! Don’t even ask how I fell asleep in one of the most exciting parts of the show. EVER!

It’s Time

Happy Thursday!

I’ve been doing some researching and I think I’ve found a training plan for my 10k! It wasn’t hard, I’ve only used Hal Higdon training plans, so that seemed like the thing to do.  Here’s the plan that I’ll be following. HalHigdon10kTraining2.  I tried to post a picture of it, but I’m computer ignorant and can’t figure it out.

Anyway, I think I’m going to go ahead and start today.  Thursday of week 1 calls for a 2 mile run + strength training.  Shouldn’t be an issue.  I’m heading out the door in 5 for CrossFit. That will count as my strenth.  And the weather is supposed to be awesome this afternoon, so I have to get up off my butt and GO!

By the way, how bright am I today? Just a freaking ray of sunshine! I’m quite the little fashionista, too.  Blue bra, pink shirt, purple pants AND purple socks.  It’s time to do a load or two of laundry, don’t ya think? At least neons are “in” for workout clothes right now!IMAG0222

Not who you want your children to be like, but you know y’all used to watch some Jersey Shore! It was definitely my guilty pleasure.  Who wouldn’t like watching all of those big gorillas get drunk?! Anyway, I think it’s awesome that she’s lost weight!

Jackpot and Mantra Monday

Guess what, I hit the jackpot! I spent the morning searching for races and……

I found it! This is the race I’m going to sign up for!! The Boy will be in Houston, so I Green6.2can force him to stand on the sidelines and watch while I race my virgin 10k!! It’s the Green 6.2 in City Centre! I’m so pumped to get to race here, it’s going to be a great way to explore some of my new city! I haven’t registered for it yet because I was rushed this morning, but I plan on registering as soon as I get settled in Alabama.

Hitting the Road

Monday, Monday.  Today starts the beginning of my journey back to Sweet Home Alabama.  The Boy is off to work for a couple of weeks and I’m headed home to tie up last-minute wedding details.  Because I’m ridiculous and don’t want to drive the entire 10 hours by myself, I’m going to split up the trip and stay in BFE, Louisiana for a night!


Have any of you tried the latest fitness craze yet?? I’ve been DYING to do it, but just couldn’t justify signing up in Texas since we’ve spent so much time in Alabama since November.  The plan was to go talk to some “boxes” as soon as we got back from the honeymoon in April.  BUT in the meantime, I’ve found out that there is a box that just opened in my hometown. I almost hyperventilated I was so excited. I’m hoping to go talk to them and start classes on Wednesday.

I’ll keep you updated, but I’m so excited to try it out, even if it’s just for a few weeks.  Crossfit is typically a little more expensive than a traditional gym, but I’m hoping I can talk them into a deal since I’ll  only be there three weeks or so.  Crossfit

As for when we get back to Texas, I still want to go talk to a couple of boxes and see if they can work with us around The Boy’s schedule.

Since I had such an indulgent weekend and have been a complete slacker in the workout department,  I’ll be forcing The Boy to eat only Subway today. I’m sure he’s beside himself. He would have no problem pulling up at a Taco Bell, but I can’t force it down.  Especially after THIS

Three Days In.

Happy Sunday!

We had a BLAST at the rodeo last yesterday and last night. The Boy and I both came home sunburned but happy! I love box seats with free food and alcohol! I also had some of the best sausage I’ve ever had in my life, it was pecan smoked sausage and it was off the chain. Do people still say that? Who cares! It was AWESOME! We found out it was cooked by some celebrity chef, even though I didn’t recognize his name. He does own a restaurant in the Sugarland, Texas area that The Boy and I want to IMAG0190try out some day though!

My love for Brantley Gilbert was cemented even more! He put on a good show and actually TALKED to his fans and told stories about the songs! It was a great day spent with family and friends.  Although I’m not going to lie, I or may not be paying for it today!


I want to talk about my goals for March.  Yeah, yeah, I know we’re already three days in, but it’s never too late, right? It’s going to be hard to keep these goals considering how busy this month is going to be, but I’m going to do my best! Here we go:

1) Work on this blog some more. If I want to get serious about this thing, I need to cultivate it.  WTF?  Like a garden? So yeah, cultivate away, Sarah.

2) Eat clean.  I’m much more concerned with eating right than I am exercising this month.  They’re both really important, but I feel much less crappy if I’m eating well.

3) Plan a freaking race already! My last race was in November and I’ve been hesitant to plan anything due to how busy everything is going to be this spring.  It will all be over on April 15th and I’m determined to find and sign up for something either at the end of April or the beginning of May! Hopefully a 10k? I think that I’ll like that distance!

4) Watch my stress levels.  I need to try, try, TRY not to cause myself unnecessary stress or let others stress me out.  Everything will work out fine in the end! I do NOT want to turn into a bridezilla!

5) Take time out to enjoy everything! This is probably the only time in our lives that The Boy and I will have ALL of our family and friends together in one place at one time! I want to savor every single detail that I can!
